Why is my target "Low Volume"?

When a target will not get impressions based on users' browsing habits, the status column of the Targets dashboard will say Low Volume.

Troubleshooting Low Volume Keywords/Targets

Our system periodically checks low volume targets against new data from our users. If a low volume target becomes likely to receive impressions, the status will change to Approved or will show a Smart Bid recommendation, and the target will then be eligible for impressions.

Targets can get little to no volume for a number of reasons, including:

  • Being too long-tail or narrow

  • Having misspellings or special characters

  • Including obscure terminology

  • Not following best practices for your campaign type

TIP: Understanding how keywords and targets uniquely match for impressions on InText, Pops, and Display is essential for optimal targeting. Learn more about the various match types on RTX Platform.

Targeting For More Volume

The best way to get volume is by targeting broadly and bidding competitively. These best practices can help you optimize your targets for more volume.
