Find out how to run compliant tech support campaigns on RTX Platform.

Select advertisers may promote tech support offers, however, we have strict guidelines to comply with our terms of service. If you're running an offer in the tech support niche, please make sure it adheres to our terms of service.

The following guidelines are related to compliance issues we most commonly see in the tech support niche and can help you submit tech support offers that comply with our terms:

  • Do not employ scare tactics. Landing page content cannot scare users into converting on your offer with warnings such as "Your computer is about to crash!" or "You may have a virus!".

  • Include a disclaimer. If your offer appears to be owned by a different company or brand, your landing page must include a disclaimer that specifies if and how you are affiliated with the brand you're promoting. For example, if you're promoting a download or advertorial for a larger, well-known brand, you must include a disclaimer that states your company's relationship to the brand. If you are not affiliated with the brand being promoted, your disclaimer should specify that.

  • Video and audio content cannot play automatically on page load and must include options to play or pause the content voluntarily.

  • Pop-up JavaScript alert windows are limited to 1 entry alert and/or 1 exit alert. If you display a popup alert when the page loads and/or when the user attempts to leave the page, closing the alert cannot spawn another alert.

  • No browser locking. Users must be able to close your landing page. Disabling any form of action that can close the browser, such as clicking the close button or pressing certain shortcut keys (for example, Alt + F4), is prohibited.

If you're unsure whether your tech support offer is compliant, please refer to this article.
