When a campaign isn't getting impressions, this guide can help you figure out why.

There are a number of reasons why a campaign doesn't get traffic, or a campaign that used to get traffic suddenly gets none. This guide can help you get to the bottom of it.

Use the Campaign Troubleshooter

The Campaign Troubleshooter will check for issues preventing your campaign from being live. Click the "Troubleshoot Campaign" icon at the top-right of any Pops campaign to see a checklist of potential issues. Anything blocking the campaign from getting traffic will have a red X in the "Status" column and more details about the issue in the "Issue" column.

NOTE: If your account balance is almost depleted, your campaigns may not have enough funds to run. Similarly, if your campaign has almost reached its total budget, it may stop running. The Traffic Troubleshooter may not report these as issues preventing your campaign from receiving traffic. Adding funds to your account and/or raising or removing your total budget will resolve these issues.

Are you looking at the correct data?

Next, check to see if there is actually no volume. Double check the date range selector at the top right of the page to make sure it is set to the correct time frame. If you're accidentally looking at a date range when the campaign was not live, you won't see any data. Keep in mind, your data is shown in the time zone you've selected in your Account Profile.

NOTE: When creating or editing campaigns, creatives, or targets, you should expect to see new data within 45 minutes to an hour.

Check your alerts.

When a campaign stops receiving traffic, there could be an alert that explains why. Check your Overview page for insights, and if you've opted in to receive email alerts, check your inbox.

Are there conflicting settings in your campaign?

There are lots of ways to target specific sites, audiences, and types of traffic on RTX Platform. If you have certain targeting or exclusions that conflict, your campaign may not be eligible for traffic. Here are a few common examples of conflicting settings:

Is the campaign optimized?

Even if your campaign is running, that doesn't necessarily mean it will get impressions right away. It's good idea wait a full day before assuming a campaign won't get any volume. If it still isn't getting impressions after a day or so, the issue could be related to optimization. Usually, this means your targets are too narrow, your bids are too low, and/or your campaign settings are too restricted.

On the settings pages of your Pops campaigns, view the Potential Daily Reach indicator to view an estimated range of maximum impressions your campaign is eligible to receive per day based on your Geographic Targets, Platform & Device Targets, Default Base CPV, and Conversion Boost℠: Quality Tiers℠ sliders. With Conversion Boost℠: Quality Tiers℠, our machine-learning algorithm intelligently categorizes your traffic into three Quality Tiers based on your conversion likelihood. Customize your bids for each tier depending on the traffic you want.

TIP: Use the Suggested Base Bid to receive optimal volume on new campaigns.

TIP:
Oftentimes, targets do not get volume because they don't follow best practices
