Duplicate an existing ad group, then make slight changes to see which ad group performs best.

As a best practice, your Push campaigns should contain multiple ad groups with different configurations so you can test how each performs and optimize granularly for each ad group.

Copying an ad group makes it easy to test different configurations. When you copy an ad group, you're creating a duplicate within the same campaign. The copied ad group will have all the same settings and creatives as the original, allowing you to quickly and easily make changes to the copied ad group without starting from scratch.

NOTE: Each campaign may have up to 50 ad groups.

What happens when I copy an ad group?

When you copy an ad group, a new ad group is created within the same campaign. The copied ad group has all the same settings and creatives as the original ad group. The word "Copy" is added to the end of the copied ad group's name to help you tell the two apart.

Once you copy an ad group, you can make edits its name, settings, and creatives.

There are two ways to copy ad groups:

  • Quick Copy duplicates your ad group in just a few clicks. You can go back and change your creatives and any editable settings anytime. Use this if you'd like to quickly create an exact copy of your ad group and creatives.

  • Copy allows you to review and update any ad group settings before copying, including bid type, which cannot be edited after saving your ad group settings. Use this if you'd like to run an existing ad group as a different bid type.

Can I copy an ad group to a different campaign?

At the moment, you can only make a copy of an ad group within the same campaign as the original ad group. If you'd like to be able to copy ad groups to another campaign, write to our team to let us know!

From the Ad Groups page at the Push level or campaign level, click the three dots in the row of the ad group you'd like to copy, then select either Copy or Quick Copy.

TIP: If you want to apply a different bid type to the new ad group, use Copy instead of Quick Copy so you can edit this setting.

If you've chosen Copy: Review and edit any ad group settings. When your settings are customized to your preference, click Save and Continue at the bottom of the page.

If you've chosen Quick Copy: Click Copy Ad Group in the informational modal that appears. Refresh the page to see your copied ad group in the Ad Groups table.

TIP: Whether you've chosen Copy or Quick Copy, you can customize your copied creatives and copied ad group's editable settings anytime.

NOTE: Depending on the number of creatives in your ad group, it may take a few minutes for the copy to complete. You'll receive an email when the copy has completed.
