Learn how to properly set up tracking with CAKE to pass back conversions to RTX Platform.

If you're using Cake to track RTX Platform campaign data and would like to track conversions in RTX Platform and Cake, you can follow the steps below to properly set up conversion tracking in both places.

Need extra help? Schedule a call with a pixel expert who can help you place your pixel or do it for you.

1. In CAKE, generate a tracking link for the offer you will be running in RTX Platform.

2. Set up a campaign in RTX Platform for the offer.

NOTE: Be sure you append sub IDs (s1, s2, s3, s4, and/or s5) and macros when adding your creative URL. You must append the {click_ID} macro to a sub ID to track conversions in CAKE and RTX Platform.

3. Create a pixel event and assign it to your campaign in RTX Platform. Follow steps 1-5 in this article to create and assign your pixel event.

4. After you complete step 5 from this article, a modal will appear in RTX Platform. Select Server to Server from the modal. Highlight and copy the URL that's in the box.

5. Go back to CAKE and paste your RTX Platform server to server pixel under "Postback URL (Server Pixel)." This can be found under the "Testing & Tracking" tab within an offer.

6. Replace <click_id> with the token (#s1#, #s2#, #s3#, #s4#, or #s5#of the sub ID that you chose to pass back the {click_ID} macro with). If you have {click_id} passing back on sub ID 2, for example, the end of your pixel code should read &b=#s2#

NOTE: In this example, since you chose sub ID 2, you MUST be sure your offer/tracking URL matches. For example, exampletrackinglink.com/?s1={target}&s2={click_id}&s3={bid}&s4={domain}&s5={subid}.

7. Click Save.

These steps must be completed for each unique RTX Platform campaign.
