Track valuable conversion and revenue data to intelligently drive your optimization.

Our most successful advertisers use pixels to track conversions in RTX Platform. Without this data, you don't have the insights you need to make optimization decisions that drive higher profit.

By installing and assigning a conversion pixel, you'll see conversion data like profit, CPA, revenue, and more in RTX Platform reporting. You'll also gain access to valuable optimization tools.

Follow the pixel implementation steps below to begin tracking conversions on RTX Platform for your Pops and Push campaigns.

1. When you create a Pops or Push campaign on RTX Platform. You will see a section titled “Pixels & Tracking” at the bottom of the Campaign Settings page.

2. If you already have a pixel created for the conversion event type applicable to this campaign (i.e. Form Submit, Lead, Purchase, Pageview, etc.), you can select it from the drop-down menu next to “Pixel Assignment.” If you see a green circle with a white checkmark next to your pixel, the pixel has fired a conversion to RTX Platform before. If you see a yellow circle, the pixel has never fired a conversion to RTX Platform. If you do not have a pixel yet that can be applied to this campaign's event type, you will need to create one using the following steps.

NOTE: Whether the pixel code you are using has or has not fired a conversion to RTX Platform before, you will need to install the pixel for each campaign. Please skip down to Step #5 for installing the pixel if you already have one created.

3. From the “Pixel Assignment” drop-down, click Create New Pixel.

4. In the box that appears, you will need to name your pixel and assign it an event type (Form Submit, Lead, Purchase, Sign-Up, Pageview, or Other). If you select "Other" please be sure to type in your event type in the new box that appears. After you complete these steps, click Apply.

NOTE: After assigning a pixel, the Conversion Amount and Conversion Capping options will appear. You may customize these settings now, however, they will not begin to work until you complete your pixel setup by installing your pixel code into your offer.

5. Click Install your pixel to find the code you'll need to install with your offer.

6. Select the type of pixel you want to place: Javascript, Image, or Server to Server. Steps to set up each pixel type are outlined below.

Pixel Setup: Javascript

Copy and paste the code that appears in the blue box into the header of the page that loads after the conversion takes place (i.e. the “thank you” or confirmation page). If it is an affiliate offer and you have an affiliate manager, they should be able to help you place it or place it for you!

OPTIONAL: Append a static or dynamic value after the "r" parameter to override the conversion amount in your Campaign Settings. You can learn more about that here.

For every offer, this must be completed for each unique thank you / confirmation page. (i.e. the page that loads after a conversion takes place)

Pixel Setup: Image

Copy and paste the code that appears in the blue box into the header of the page that loads after the conversion takes place (i.e. the “thank you” or confirmation page). If it is an affiliate offer and you have an affiliate manager, they should be able to help you place it or place it for you!

OPTIONAL: Append a static or dynamic value after the "r" parameter to override the conversion amount in your Campaign Settings. You can learn more about that here.

For every offer, this must be completed for each unique thank you / confirmation page. (i.e. the page that loads after a conversion takes place)

Pixel Setup: Server to Server

Before installing your server to server pixel, you'll need to edit your creative URL. If you're setting up a new campaign that does not have any creatives yet, you can make this edit when you add your creative(s).

When you edit your creative URL, append our {click_id} macro using the parameter that your affiliate company's receiving ad server accepts. When a user lands on your URL, RTX Platform will replace the {click_id} macro in your URL with the actual click ID value.

EXAMPLE: If your creative URL is http://www.myoffer.com/buy-this-thing.html and your affiliate company uses "someparam" as the parameter to track click ID, you'd structure your creative URL as: http://www.myoffer.com/buy-this-thing.html?someparam={click_id}

In the pixel code shown in the blue box, replace <click_id> with the parameter your creative URL uses to pass the {click_id} macro, structured according to the format your affiliate company supports.

EXAMPLE: If your server to server code is https://cn.rtlx.com/conv/?v=ZWQ0YLOiMTNlMDlhMWYyNWEjZmI2NmZlMiMTM6MjUyMDE%3D&p=8&r=&b=<click_id> and your affiliate company requires the someparam parameter contained within double brackets, you'd edit your server to server code to: https://cn.rtlx.com/conv/?v=ZWQ0YLOiMTNlMDlhMWYyNWEjZmI2NmZlMiMTM6MjUyMDE%3D&p=8&r=&b=[[someparam]] - When a user converts on your offer, [[someparam]] will automatically update to the click ID that generated the conversion.

OPTIONAL: Append a static or dynamic value after the "r" parameter to override the conversion amount in your Campaign Settings. You can learn more about that here.

Once your code is edited, place it with your affiliate company, who should have an option where you can paste your server to server code. If it is an affiliate offer and you have an affiliate manager, they should be able to help you place it or place it for you!

These steps must be completed for each unique RTX Platform campaign.

7. Click "Done" to close the pixel window and return to your Campaign Settings, then enter the amount you earn per conversion event into the “Conversion Amount” field. You can also apply a conversion cap to limit the number of times a user can convert on your offer in a set time frame. When you're finished, be sure to save your changes at the bottom of the page.

NOTE: If you've appended a static or dynamic value after the "r" parameter in your pixel code, that amount will override the conversion amount in your campaign settings. You can learn more about that here.

Items to note

  • If you want to see all of your pixels in one place with relevant data such as the date a pixel last fired, number of times it's fired, and assigned campaigns, click on the “Pixels” tab. You can also create new pixels from this page by clicking CREATE NEW PIXEL. In the box, you will need to name your pixel and assign it an event type (Form Submit, Lead, Purchase, Sign-Up, Pageview, or Other). After you complete these steps, click SAVE. On the next screen that appears, you will be able to assign the pixel to relevant Pops and Push campaigns as pixels are global! After you select which campaigns you would like this pixel assigned to, click SAVE. On the Pixels tab, you can also find the image, JavaScript, and server to server codes for each pixel when you click Install Your Pixel from the drop-down under Options for any particular pixel. From the same drop-down, you can assign the pixel to additional campaigns by clicking Assign Campaigns.

  • As a best practice, you only create one pixel for each event type (i.e. Form Submit, Lead, Purchase, Pageview, etc.) and place it into all campaigns with the same conversion event type. Try using a naming format such as "Lead-16January2018", which includes the event type associated with the pixel and the date the pixel was created.

  • Only place ONE pixel per campaign on just the thank you / confirmation page. At this time, you cannot track conversions for more than one event per offer, even if the events and pixels are unique.
